Marine Electronics & Communication Systems
Marine Electronics
Our marine electronics solutions are built to withstand saltwater exposure, vibration, and changing weather conditions. As a result, vessels operating locally or offshore benefit from long-term reliability and dependable performance.
MARINE ELECTRONICS, NAVIGATION AND COMMUNICATION SPECIALISTS
For many years, we have supported cross-channel ferry operators based in Dover. Our marine engineers respond to urgent failures and critical faults around the clock. Because marine downtime can be costly, we prioritise fast response and practical solutions.
By working closely with trusted industry suppliers, we provide competitive pricing on navigation systems, marine communication equipment, power supplies, and sea safety systems.
Whether you require a full vessel electronics refit or a single repair, our experienced team delivers efficient, reliable service.
Marine Safety Communications & Distress Systems
When navigating offshore or inland waterways, reliable communication becomes essential. Conditions at sea can change quickly, so vessels must remain connected at all times.
We supply and install vital marine navigation and communication systems, including equipment used to contact coastguards, marinas, and harbour authorities. In addition, we configure systems to send and receive distress alerts when required.
Our engineers also inspect, service, and maintain:
Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
EPIRBs (Emergency Position Indicating Rescue Beacons)
AIS (Automatic Identification Systems)
SARTs (Search and Rescue Transponders)
Lifeboat radios
GMDSS, EPIRB & SART Emergency Marine Safety Systems
- GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems) is a system put in place that ensures ships have specific requirements which need to be met depending on the size of the vessel and number of passengers on board. As well as some of the communications equipment falling into this, it includes further equipment.
- EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Rescue Beacon) – If you end up in the water, or the ship sinks, this beacon sends out a signal to alert rescue services.
- SART (Search and Rescue Transponder) – Another beacon that directs rescue ships to your location using their radars.

download NMEA Watch
SR NMEA Watch is a simple, portable Windows application for viewing and checking NMEA 0183 and AIS data from real equipment.
It connects to a serial data source, either through a built-in COM port or a USB-to-serial converter, and displays the data live as it is transmitted. This makes it easy to diagnose communication problems, confirm correct configuration, and test equipment during installation or fault-finding.
The application shows raw NMEA data, tracks which sentence types are being received, and highlights checksum issues or missing data. Individual sentence types can be shown or hidden, helping you focus only on the information you care about. AIS data is automatically decoded into a clear target list, making it easy to confirm that AIS transmissions are present and valid.
SR NMEA Watch requires no installation and runs as a single portable executable.
It can be copied to a USB stick and used wherever it’s needed.
Free to download. Easy to use. Designed for practical, real-world testing.
