Smye-Rumsby recently completed a major upgrade to the Motorola two-way radio system at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, delivering improved communication across one of the UK’s leading children’s hospitals.

Project Overview
Our engineering team carried out a complete upgrade of the existing Motorola digital radio network, ensuring reliable communication across the hospital site while preparing the system for future expansion.
The project included new Motorola Capacity Plus repeaters, integration with specialist software, RF coverage testing and the supply of the latest Motorola R7 digital radios.
Scope of Work
- Installation of new Motorola Capacity Plus repeaters.
- Installation and activation of the Motorola NAI Data Licence Key.
- Integration with the bespoke My Porter software developed by Global View Systems.
- Testing of all six distributed antenna systems installed throughout the hospital.
- Complete RF coverage survey across the hospital.
- Supply and programming of 20 Motorola R7 Full Keypad Premium radios.
- Configuration of the Motorola R7 advanced job ticketing functionality.
